Conservation

conservation building in south devon totnesWe have been working on listed buildings for many years caring for and repairing everthing from cob barns to grade 1 listed mediaeval churches.

The pictures on the right show some of the work carried out at St. Mary the Virgin, Berry Pomeroy to replace a badly leaking Victorian pitched roof on the tower with a lead roof which followed the profile of the original. The 15th century roof beams were supported in their original positions and a new oak roof built off them. This was then covered with traditional sand cast lead with a piece of the previous lead roof dated 1648, preserved in the bell room.

Our considerable experience and working knowledge of old buildings make us ideal partners in the planned maintenance of churches and so on. If you are responsible for the up keep of a listed building and would like to discuss a planned maintenance program please contact us
